I'm very proud of you!
My Pledge
Dear Friends and Family,
On September 11, 2010, I will be climbing the world's tallest freestanding mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. At 5,895 meters above sea level, Mt. Kilimanjaro holds the record as Africa's highest peak. The purpose of my climb is to raise money for children suffering from cancer. In particular, I would like to help two underprivileged pediatric patients being currently treated at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan.
Ayham is a cute little three-year-old from Gaza in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. He was diagnosed this year with a malignant tumor in his abdomen and was admitted immediately to the Intensive Care Unit. Ayham will now require chemotherapy, surgery and eventually a bone marrow transplant. He needs US$ 70,000 to complete his entire treatment.
Laween is an adorable little Iraqi boy with wide dark eyes who has already spent much of his baby life in hospitals and doctors’ clinics. Barely over one year old, Laween has been diagnosed with leukemia. Although Laween is already on his second course of chemotherapy, he still has a long way to go. It is estimated that he will need approximately US$ 63,00 0 in order to complete his life-saving treatment.
I am determined to raise at least US$ 58,950 - the equivalent of US$ 10 for every meter I climb - to help Ayham and Laween with their treatment and help them return to a carefree childhood. Their parents are hopeful that with your help, their children will have the chance for a cure and be able to return to their friends and family and enjoy normal life that every young child deserves. Your contribution, however amount it may be, will help me reach this goal and will help put these two children back on the road to recovery.
Please help support my climb. The fight against cancer is an uphill battle, and together we can make a true difference in the lives of these precious young children.
With my thanks and appreciation,
Nizar Fakhoury
