Too Many Bad Dresses at the AMAs?
AMAs were not only about tripping all over yourself, they were also about bad fashion. Yay, our favorite!
Nicole Kidman continues to underwhelm us in another pastel, ruffled, tiered dress, this time by Balenciaga. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez went with too much matchy-matchy white in head-to-toe Gucci. We will say it's nice to see her smile and not doing that sex face she usually makes.
A couple of question regarding Kristen Bell. What is she doing there? And is that really a tube top with a high-waisted skirt? OK, cool, just wanted to make sure we were seeing things right because...ew!
Kate Hudson was there to pimp Nine (you know, the movie where she sings) in a vintage Gianni Versace chainmail dress that was not only totally shapeless but was on the verge of exposing some nipple...
Alas, there was flesh-colored mesh under there to keep things covered up.
And finally Kelly Clarkson. Oh, Kelly. Why does she do this to us? We love her so much, we really just want to help her find something flattering to wear. The cut of this dress really isn't doing her any favors (too long), the fishnets are too light to be flattering, the sparkles are more matronly than fun like T.Swift, and the hair could have used some styling.
The craziest thing of all is while these five ladies were all failing at the red carpet, Paula Abdul was actually looking normal and good. Someone please explain that.

Moms can be embarrassing, even—or maybe especially—if you're Oprah Winfrey.
Luckily, the big O's mama is once again leaving the headline-grabbing to her daughter, thanks to the recent settlement of the lawsuit filed against her for failing to make good on a $155,547 debt at a Wisconsin clothing boutique.
Valentina Inc. filed suit against Vernita Lee in July 2008 after the Oprah-birther failed to make good on her minimum monthly payments. Attorneys for Lee played the blame game in their defense, saying the store was at fault for extending her a line of credit in the first place, what with her history of less than stellar repayment practices.
Still, the suit has now been settled and will remain sealed, giving some credence to the report that it was Oprah herself who stepped in to bail out her mother. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the store will receive a partial payment of what was owed.
"We're happy with what transpired," Valentina co-owner Tony Chirchirillo told the paper. "We can get on with our lives; they can get on with theirs."
A judge still needs to sign off on the secret settlement, and a hearing to do just that has been scheduled for Dec. 7.

There are a lot of strange things about Suri Cruise's upbringing, like the fact she only subsists on cupcakes, never wears coats in the winter and Tom Cruise is her dad.
But at least when it comes to the 3-year-old wearing high heels during her almost daily paparazzi walks, that's something we can all objectively look at, ask "Why put your toddler in heels, Katie Holmes?" and actually get an answer.
"She—like every little girl—she loves my high heels," Katie explained to Access Hollywood. Suri wanted her own pair, and what Suri wants, Suri gets.
"I found them for her and she loves them," Katie says, adding that they're supportive for Suri's young feet. "They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids."
Well, that certainly makes all the difference. Carry on then, Cruise girls.

What's wrong with this picture?
Lots, according to the Catholic League, which has voiced its opposition to PETA's latest shock-'em-into-action ad campaign, which features a naked Joanna Krupa sporting nothing but angel wings and holding a strategically placed crucifix, while exhorting us to "be an angel for animals" by adopting, rather than buying, new pets.
Plus, there's another ad in which a topless Krupa holds her dog, Rugby, in her arms, a rosary dangling from her right hand.
More improper usage of a sacred Christian symbol, claims the league, which most recently took issue with an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which Larry's urinary backsplash hits a painting of Jesus.
But Krupa is a Catholic herself, and she objects to this holier-than-thou stance.
